Differential diagnoses

These include golfer's elbow (location of pain in more anterior while the ulnar nerve is located posterior to medial epicondyle, Figure 6.4) and instability of the elbow joint. The cervical spine should always be assessed in case the neurological symptoms are due to more proximal nerve compression. Confirmation is based on nerve conduction studies, which reveal slowing of the conduction velocity within the ulnar nerve across the elbow.
